BCIC – New Ventures Competition
BCIC is the lead partner of the BCIC-New Ventures Competition, one of North America’s largest technology business idea competitions. The Competition provides BC entrepreneurs with the skills to launch and manage a startup through a 10-week business seminar and networking series while competing to win one of several prize packages.
The BCIC-New Ventures Competition addresses the special interests of BC’s early-stage technology companies and supporting BC’s emerging technology industry. It attracts BC entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries including cleantech, ICT, bioenergy, agritech, life sciences and more.
Created in 2001, the BCIC-New Ventures Competition’s top companies have raised over $200 million dollars in financing and created more than 3300 jobs in British Columbia. Each year, 150 business leaders donate their time to the competition. Since its inception, more than 1,500 entrepreneurs have participated in the program.
