Diverse Okanagan entrepreneurs discuss region’s tech future

The Okanagan Centre for Innovation, where today's tech roundtable was held.

The Okanagan tech sector is abuzz with bright ideas and important discussions today, thanks to a joint effort from Accelerate Okanagan and the BC Innovation Council.

At a roundtable organized by Accelerate Okanagan, Bruce Ralston, Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, met with entrepreneurs from across the region to discuss factors affecting the growth of the Okanagan’s tech sector. Representatives from the agri-tech, life sciences, digital and animation sectors were present to suggest how industry and government can work together in supporting tech companies at the startup and growth stage.

Also, the BC Innovation’s Council’s BC Growth Opportunities (#BCGO) Tour stopped off in Kelowna today, giving local businesses the chance to connect and collaborate with companies like Rio Tinto, IBM and FortisBC who are looking for local tech solutions. #BCGO aims to connect business challenges with local innovative solutions and help entrepreneurs build businesses where they live.
