Design for Startups
Design for Startups is an initiative of Living Labs at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. In partnership with BCIC and Highline, the program is intended to addresses a gap in how early-stage companies engage with design by systematizing a method for integrating design into the model of a technology accelerator.
Through this initiative, 5 Emily Carr designers are matched with 5 early-stage companies in residence at Highline, a startup accelerator based in Vancouver. Two rounds of the program are running in Vancouver (Spring and Fall 2015) and one in Toronto (Fall 2015). This initiative has been running since September 2013 and has been shown to be an effective model for knowledge transfer to emerging businesses in British Columbia. Please visit the Emily Carr website for information and details on how to apply.
