Vancouver Startup Week: Edvisor takes $100,000 prize in BCIC-New Ventures Competition

More than $300,000 in cash and prizes have been awarded to innovative B.C. technology companies to kick off this year’sVancouver Startup Week.

The 15th annual BCIC-New Ventures Competition saw Edvisortake home the $100,000 BCIC First Prize Package and Rocket Builders GotoMarket Prize at a ceremony on Monday night (September 21).

Edvisor is developing a platform for education agencies that coordinate studying-abroad programs.

Ziva Dynamics, which is working on human interaction in virtual spaces, won the $55,000 BCIC Second Prize Package and Rocket Builders Most Promising Pitch Prize.

Change Heroes, the startup behind an online fundraising platform, landed the $37,000 BCIC Third Prize and $16,000 Vancity Social Venture Prize.
