Technology City Vancouver in the spotlight on Fairchild TV
The Canadian Cantonese broadcasting service Fairchild TV this week featured Vancouver’s growing technology ecosystem in their extended 2-part segment on the ecosystem and lifecycle of technology startups. BC Venture Acceleration Program client, and recent Cascadia winner, Optigo Networks shared their startup journey from two founders and an empty warehouse 2012 to a growing client base and distribution networks across North America for their ‘Internet of Things’ connectivity devices for ‘smart buildings’.
‘Technology is larger than mining, forestry and oil and gas combined here in BC,’ said Greg Caws, CEO of the BC Innovation Council. ‘Because more young people are involved [with technology] from an early age, they can see at as being part of their future.’ You can watch the full segment of Fairchild TV’s Technology City, Vancouver here.
