Saltworks Technologies is one successful company got its start through the New Ventures B.C. contest by the B.C. Innovation Council, a provincial Crown agency.
Ben Sparrow, CEO of Saltworks, won the $100,000 prize money in 2008, and now heads a successful company that specializes in desalination techniques to purify waste water, employing 65 workers and making “eight figures” in profits.
