Help Build IoT Platform of the Future

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) wants your help to build its future IoT platform. Five challenges have been defined as the first phase in building the IoT platform of the future. Submit your solution for one or multiple challenges. A winning solution in each challenge will be selected and awarded $10,000 and mentorship to deliver a Proof of Concept (PoC).

Better Public Safety & Transportation Efficiency

MOTI wants to replace a set of existing camera and sensor systems with a modern and flexible IoT platform. The IoT platform will be more responsive to changing business needs and technology advancements.  The platform will also leverage its extensive sensor, camera networks and data to benefit all system users, BC citizens and travellers.


Submit Your Solution by April 17, 2017:

Key Dates:

  • April 17, 2017: Letter of Interest Submission Deadline
  • June 2017: Top Submissions Selected and Notified
  • Fall 2017: Proof-of-Concept Submission
  • Fall 2017: Innovator’s Proof-of-Concept Demonstration to MOTI

Eligibility & Rules: 

  • Submissions must be from a BC company or citizen
  • Each submission must be for a specific solution, addressing a single challenge only. A single submission cannot address more than one challenge.
  • Each applicant can provide a maximum of three submissions. Please determine what challenge opportunities are best aligned with your expertise.
